Our Story

15 Years Helping People Choose Coverage Confidently

We're an independent agency — not tied to any one carrier — so our advisors recommend what actually fits your life, your family, and your business.

Our Story

We started Meet Policies because health insurance should never be this hard.

In 2010, our founder watched his sister — a self-employed graphic designer in her early 30s — spend three weeks trying to understand her health insurance options after losing her job. Three weeks. Dozens of confusing websites, conflicting information, and zero guidance from people who actually understood the system.

She eventually gave up and went uninsured for eight months. Four months later, she was in the emergency room with appendicitis. The bill was $34,000.

That's the story that built Meet Policies. We created this agency because navigating health insurance is genuinely difficult — and it shouldn't require a law degree to understand your options.

What makes us different

We are 100% independent
Meet Policies is not owned by, affiliated with, or financially incentivized by any single carrier. Our agents earn the same commission rate regardless of which plan they recommend.
We are licensed professionals
Every Meet Policies advisor is a licensed insurance agent, compliant with state regulations, and carries Errors & Omissions insurance.
We offer a free service
Consultations, plan comparisons, and enrollment cost you absolutely nothing. Carriers compensate us — you pay the same as buying direct, or less.
We stay with you
Most agents disappear after enrollment. Your Meet Policies agent stays your resource for claims, annual reviews, life changes, and every question that comes up.
Our Mission

To make quality health coverage accessible, understandable, and affordable for every American — individual, family, or business — through honest, expert guidance and a service that costs you nothing.

Our values

Transparency
We tell you exactly what a plan covers and what it doesn't. No surprises at the worst possible moment.
Independence
We recommend what's best for you, full stop. Our advice is never influenced by carrier incentives or sales targets.
Accessibility
Health insurance shouldn't be a luxury. We work to find affordable coverage for every budget.
Longevity
We're not here to make a sale. We're here to build a relationship that lasts as long as you need us.

PRINCIPLES

We work for
the policy reader.

Insurance is sold as a feeling. We sell it as a drawing — with every measurement labeled, every tolerance listed, every exclusion visible.

01

Independent by design

We are not owned by a carrier. Our analysts get the same fee regardless of which policy you choose. The breakdown is the product.

02

Detail-first, not sales-first

Every recommendation is documented like an engineering brief. Component, value, source, page citation. No back-cover marketing.

03

The service costs nothing

Carriers pay a standard commission only if you enroll. The breakdown is yours regardless. No upsell, no hold music, no nudge.

04

We stay with the policy

Your dedicated analyst tracks plan changes year over year. When renewal hits, you get an updated drawing — not a generic email.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES

What it looks like
to actually read the policy.

The scenarios below are illustrative examples of how reading a policy before you buy changes the decision - not verified customer reviews. First names only.

EXAMPLE - 01

I'd looked at four ACA plans on three different sites and still couldn't tell you what a formulary tier meant. Reading the SBC with Meet Policies took an hour and it finally clicked - I understood what I was actually buying before I bought it.

EXAMPLE - 02

I was about to sign a group policy without reading past the premium line. Meet Policies walked me through the summary of benefits so I understood the deductible and coinsurance terms before I chose anything for my team.

EXAMPLE - 03

My spouse lost job-based coverage and I had two kids on that plan. Before enrolling in a bridge option, we sat down and actually read the policy documents - coinsurance, network rules, formulary - instead of guessing.

EXAMPLE - 04

I'm 58 and the bridge to Medicare looked terrifying. Learning to read the plan documents line by line - which drugs were covered and at what tier - made the decision mine instead of a guess.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE - PRE-RETIREE, AGE 58
EXAMPLE - 05

I read technical documents for a living. This was the first insurance policy where I understood every clause before I signed it, not after a claim got denied.

Our startup needed real benefits, not a rushed decision. We used the breakdown to read the SBC and understand the coinsurance and network terms before choosing a plan for the team.
